After over 10 years of providing Internet connectivity to our local community, KyND Internet Services has changed ownership. On 01 May 2007, we signed a contract with Points South, another Maine-based Internet provider, transferring the care of our equipment and customer base to them. We have worked with Points South very closely the entire time we have been in business, so they are quite familiar with our operations and we believe that we are putting all our customers in very capable hands.

What does this mean for our customers? We've created a small list of questions and answers that we feel will help you understand the transition a little better. If you still have questions, please feel free to call our office at +1.207.564.7323 or call Points South toll-free at +1.866.490.0100.

It has been a great pleasure serving all of you over the past years. We wish all our customers the very best, and we thank you for continuing to support small Maine businesses!

Questions:

1) What will happen to the excellent customer service that I've been used to?

Points South, like KyND, has always used humans to answer the phone. There is no voicemail or menu system to wade through, you will still be able to get a live person immediately! In fact, Points South is open until 10PM on weekdays and is open from 11AM to 7PM on Saturdays and Sundays; you will now be able to receive tech support seven days a week. Their technicians are friendly and courteous and have many years of experience helping out Internet customers.

Points South was recently voted the #1 Internet Provider in the Sanford area for the 6th time.

2) Is my bill going to go up?

No. In fact, many of you will soon be getting your invoices from Points South and you'll notice that your bill has gone down! Points South charges $19.50/month for unlimited Internet access and has great pre-payment plans! Anyone with credit from a pre-payment will still have credit with Points South.

Also, please note, you will not receive any more statements from KyND (unless you have a past due amount prior to May 1) Your May statement, which will be arriving shortly, will be billed directly from Points South.

3) Will there still be a local office that I can bring payments to?

Points South will be keeping the KyND office open for at least a month, perhaps longer if there is demand. They will be working with local merchants to try and find a payment center where customers can bring cash payments. If you own a business in the Dover-Foxcroft area and would be interested in being a payment and signup center, please let us know!

4) Will my e-mail address change?

With the transfer of the business, we will also be transferring the kynd.net and kynd.com domain names so your e-mail@kynd.net will still work. Points South will be calling everyone personally to walk you through small changes on your computer and it would be convenient at that time to switch your e-mail address over to a Points South address. Your KyND address will continue to work, even after this transition has been completed.
